What is Vinyasa?
VINYASA is a flowing, dynamic yoga practice that cultivates presence by connecting movement with breath. Most classes feature several elements of traditional Ashtanga yoga— vigorous sun salutations, standing poses, preparation for arm balances & backbends, with focus on gaze point guided by a steady breath.
Primary Vinyasa
This class is based on the Ashtanga Primary series of postures. The sequences integrate movement and breath while holding postures for a specific amount of time. The class is aimed at seasoned beginners and regular practitioners. Within the class twists, backbends and approachable inversions will be introduced. Be prepared to explore both beginning and intermediate poses. Modifications are given allowing the students to practice according to their needs.
Power Vinyasa
This vigorously paced class offers dynamic transitions through poses, explores more complex movements and sequences including twists, backbends; options for inversions and arm balances layered over solid foundations. The sequences are planned for building more strength, balance, and flexibility. The class has more rigorous/athletic sequencing and is geared toward experienced practitioners. Students should have at least 6 months experience before choosing to attend this class.
All Levels Vinyasa -
This class is a flowing yoga practice that cultivates presence by connecting movement with breath. ALL LEVELS are welcome and the class offers variations to meet everyones needs.
Gentle Flow
Unwind with gentle flowing movements along with some passive, supported poses to nourish the body and calm the mind. Props support the body to help release tension and encourage the body's own healing power. This class ends with a guided relaxation.
Slow Flow & Meditation
This slow gently flowing class is focused on the experience of being in your body and with your breath. Accessible to all levels, including beginners, this class is a combination of gentle & dynamic flow coupled with longer holds to help find alignment in our bodies, within ourselves, connect with clarity, humility, and love. We begin and/or end class with short Meditation – a subtle but very special practice that is often overlooked.
All Levels Yoga
A steady practice with focus on proper alignment and holding of poses to engage, building strength, stamina, flexibility and balance as well as improving concentration and breath control. The class will also cultivate presence by integrating movement with breath while introducing twists, standing and seated postures, backbends, approachable inversions and the usage of props (blocks, straps), this class is suitable for, and potentially challenging for ALL LEVELS as it can be taken as easily or deeply as one's body demands on a given day.
